Okay, sorry about that last post...whew, that was irritating. I also forgot to mention Tanya and Denise are Hair Transplant Assistant's and we were in Coronado, CA for a Hair Restoration Event/Tradeshow of sorts.
Here are some more pics...

And here is one of the Gala on our last night (Saturday):

Anyway, while I was away for the weekend, Dylan posted some of our short films on iFilm and I will definitely follow up soon with the links. I'll be in SJ this weekend...so more pics and fun to come... Hope everyone is doing good and have a Happy Halloween!

The job search is moving right along, and I'm hoping one of my interviews pans out. I don't want to mention any company names yet, but let's just say that I would love to be in the Film/Entertainment business!

Last weekend I drove down to Del Coronado (San Diego area) and hung out with my high school friends, Denise & Tanya, for a wonderful weekend of fun in the sun...

Well, I've been working on this blog for about 3 hours now and I have a ton more pics, but the blog isn't posting correctly. So, I'm going to add more tomorrow :) We did have a great time though and I'll post more pics separately.

So, I've had a pretty up and down week this week with my layoff and all. But tonight was a great night! To make a long story short, Dylan and I went to the Farmers Market last Sunday (as we do every week) and I noticed a man with a sign, who was scheduling people to screen a movie starring Adam Sandler, so of course we signed up. The movie was tonight and it was called Reign Over Me. We drove over to the Sherman Oaks Galleria to watch the movie, parked and began walking toward the theater. As we were walking I was looking around (as I usually do) for celebrities...and low and behold, who should I see, but Adam Sandler himself walking in the opposite direction (all by himself). When I realized who it was I turned around and yelled his name out like I knew him or something, but he didn't turn around (obviously). Anyway, that made my night :) Then we watched the movie and I'm tellin ya...it is Oscar worthy. It doesn't come out until March 2007 in theaters, but this was probably one of the best movies I have ever seen. It also stars Don Cheadle from Crash and Liv Tyler. Although, bring tissues because I have never cried so much in a movie either. It was a tear jerker to say the least :( It truly made you appreciate everyone you love or have loved in your life! Check out the details at: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0490204/

My friend, Amanda, was in town last Friday and we had a wonderful time. Me and Amanda's Private Investigator friends all went to Vitello's for dinner and then back to the Hilton for drinks. Here's a pic of me and Amanda:

Oh ya, I also saw Benson (Robert Guillame) at Universal Studios on Sunday. For some of you youngens, he was in a show I used to watch in the late 70's. Here's a pic of him:

Anyway, I'll keep this site posted. I have been following up on some good job leads and good things are to come :) Hope everyone is doing great!

Question MarkImagine this...
You are living your life day to day with a couple stressful issues at work, but nothing life threatening. Then you are offered a job in Los Angeles with more pay and an excellent opportunity for growth at an Online Broadcasting company (Based in NY and the wave of the future), from a previous co-worker, who appreciates your nack for Customer Service and your ability to work long hours to get the job done. Your dream has always been to move to Los Angeles and possibly work in the Entertainment industry, so you jump at the opportunity. You quit your job, your husband quits his job and you pack up and move to LA. You go into your new office and work with really nice people on the 23rd floor of the NBC Universal Building with your own closed door office and begin working with a couple of customers. Work starts off a little slow and you find yourself asking your manager again and again for more work (like you are used to). You enjoy your new life in LA on the weekends by visiting with friends from the area, family visits, going to the beach, visiting the local tourist traps and just hanging out at home. Your husband finds a good job selling websites in the local area and you begin to feel like this is where you plan to live for the rest of your life (finally). You are renting an apartment at a fairly high cost, because you want to live close to work, your check is a little bigger then it was in San Jose/Los Gatos and you enjoy seeing the stars in their territory (You lived in a very small one bedroom apartment in Los Gatos).

Everything moves along smoothly for the first couple of months and you begin to think that work is picking up, as you are given a couple more accounts and added responsibility.

Then out of the blue, you take your normal one hour lunch break on a typical Thursday afternoon (10/05/06), you come back into work and there is a voice mail and an Instant Message from your manager to give her a call when you return to your desk. You call her back...and the first words out of her mouth are..."I really hate to do this over the phone, but...".

You can imagine what happened next... BANG...Scared 1
You were laid off with only 2 weeks of severence pay, as the company decided not to ramp/expand their Los Angeles Sales Dept. and concentrate on business in the NY territory.
As you can probably imagine by now...this happened to me Crying 1!!! I'm trying to keep a positive attitude and I'm sure things will work out as they are meant too, but in the meantime I'm a bit embarassed and shocked, as I'm sure all of you would feel the same. So, if you know of any job openings in the Los Angeles area (primarily the San Fernando Valley) looking for someone in the High-tech and/or Entertainment industry, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to send you my resume. I'm willing to begin working as soon as possible.

I hope all of you are doing well and please keep in touch!

It's been a week since I posted and I meant to post earlier in the week, but we all get busy every once in awhile. Last weekend, I met Denise C. and Jen at the Starlite (local bar) for some girl time, but I didn't take any pictures.

Then on Saturday, Dylan and I went to Manhattan and Hermosa Beach :) Hermosa Beach is my dream place, and I will live there...someday. Here are a few pictures of Hermosa Beach:

The apartment complex (behind Dylan) is the same one in Beverly Hills 90210

Sorry, not the best picture of me, but a pic of me nonetheless

And here are a few snapshots of the beach:

Things are not always peaches and cream in LA. Here is a picture of the traffic on Hwy. 405 on the way to the beach:

Last, but definitely not least...there have been other changes/thoughts that I've been meaning to add to the blog and here they are:

1) Recently, I found out that I have an extended family (Uncle given up for adoption with 6 kids) and I plan to visit them in Colorado in May of next year with my mom :) Actually, because I am so used to having a small family this was wonderful news! My 1/2 cousin, Alicea, and I have been in contact and I can't wait to meet her and her family!

2) Just a mention of some of my friends that I miss from San Jose...I miss Darla, Katie, Amanda, Jenni and Gina. Oh gosh, I know I'm missing a few people, but I'll mention their names when I win my Oscar ;) Plus, I'm planning a weekend visit at the end of October for Halloween, so I'll see all of them then!

3) Let's see...oh ya, one more thought...my friend, Trisha, from Cinequest (San Jose Film Festival) is moving here this weekend and I can't wait to have another friend living in LA to join me for some star-gazing.

Welp, that's it for now :) Oh ya, tonight...the movie, "The Departed" is premiering in LA and I'm going to try to catch a glimpse and a few pics of Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Nicholson. If I get pics or if I make it on time (due to traffic), I'll definitely post them on here.

Talk about a novel this time...hope everyone is doing great!
