Beach A great friend of mine turned me on to this blog site and since Dave and I just moved to LA (Studio City) on August 1st, 2006 from Northern Cal, I thought this would be a great way to keep in touch with family and friends throughout the country and back in SJ too. I will update this weekly or as things come up :). Let's see...where to start...

Our lives have completely changed in the past 4 1/2 weeks. Mine for the better and Dave is very close behind me. I now work for ROO as a Client Services Manager on the 23rd floor of the NBC Universal Building with my own office (I love it-check out the view of 101 from my office below). Check out rootv.com to see what we do.

The first weekend here, my mom came down to visit and helped us unpack. We met up with cousin Kristina and Nick for dinner and had a wonderful time. We also drove over to Griffith Park (where the Hollywood sign is- see below) and went for a short hike. A very good start to our new place in LA.

I also met up with Donna, Denise C. and Deirdre, since I've been down here, as well. Then for our 1 yr. anniversary (August 20th, 2006), Dave and I drove to Vegas for our 3rd weekend here. It wasn't as close to LA as we thought, but that's cool, cause Vegas is open 24 hrs. a day. We had fun, but next year I think we'll go to the beach instead. Hey, at least I won $1000 about 15 minutes before we drove back to LA, which paid for all our expenses.

Oh, and the most important thing, as I want to have this documented...here are the list of Celebrities I've seen since we've moved here and where I saw them, from first to last:

  • The midget with a limp from Seinfeld and the Burger King commercials- after about an hour of research...I found his name: Danny Woodburn (Jerry's Deli)
  • Brett Butler (Bed, Bath and Beyond)
  • Tori Spelling and unknown male (Jerry's Deli)
  • Seal (front doors of NBC Universal)
  • Chelsea and Max from Days of our Lives (together at Chevy's)
  • Alyssa Milano (Jerry's Deli)
  • Collin Farrel (front doors of NBC Universal)- not positive on this sighting, but a dead-ringer nonetheless.
  • Melanie Griffith walking another man (not Antonio) out to his car with her robe on (Malibu beach)
  • Last but not least...Rob Reiner almost ran into me on his bike and I actually spoke words to him (sure it was just Hello, but I was in shock). (Malibu Beach in front of his beach house)

Last Sunday, Dave and I went to the Getty Museum (famous free museum in LA) and Malibu Beach to look for the stars and visit the beach.

Well, that's it for my first blog. If I can, I'll upload some pictures from our time here so far. I don't have any pictures with the stars yet, because things are different here...I have to mix in with the crowd first. Next year, I'll probably have pictures from one of those award shows, or I'll grab some paparazzi pics on my cell phone. Oh ya, I do have one pic of me and Whoopie in Vegas...see below.

Ciao for now, Cheri Thomas

So is it the job that got you out to LA or LA that got you the job??
How far away IS Vegas? (I'll be there for Live Surgery Workshop and on the panel for discussion. Also, I'll be in San Diego in October around the 19th...How far is that from where you are? What's your address again? I lost it and I have another very small present for your birthday.
