Happy Memorial Day!!
Didn't do too much this weekend...just caught up on some much needed phone calls and emails with friends and family. Yesterday, Dave and I went for a drive and did some filming for an upcoming short film on the glitz and glamour of LA (ya right) to help us remember our 1 year stay here. We have quite a bit of editing to do and some more filming too, so stay tuned for the video.

Okay, so here's the big news....
DAVE AND I WILL BE MOVING BACK TO THE BAY AREA!
I do love LA, but it just wasn't for me or Dave. Besides my friends, family and co-workers that are living here, the people here are all out for themselves and I'm used to friendly people who genuinely care about the inside of people and not the superficial outside. On the other hand, I do not regret living down in LA (except for taking the job at ROO) as I've also had so much fun (as you can tell from my prior blogs) and seen so many celebrities, etc.
The Bay Area will always be my home. So, this time we are staying for good!!!
Plus, an opportunity opened up at my current job, up in San Jose, and I did not want to pass it up. We'll be back in the Bay Area on or around August 1st and I for one am looking forward to a Welcome Back Home party!!! As opposed to the Going Away parties we've had over the last few years.

Last weekend (May 19th), Dave and I drove to Gardnerville, NV for his cousin Kim's wedding. It was a long drive, but worth it!
Kim (the bride) and Michelle (cousin)
Jim, Joyce and Kim
Kevin, Jeremy and Michelle
Here are some pics of the special occasion:
Virginia City (about 14 miles NE of Carson City). We stopped here for lunch.

There is still some big news to come, but I'm phoning some people before I announce it to the public...

Good luck Jordin :) After seeing Blake and Jordin live last week, I've changed my vote to Jordin as the American Idol winner. Blake loves himself just a little too much and Jordin is sincere and very happy to be where she is at...plus she's a great singer!
Our Cable service was down, when we came back from our cousin's wedding in Gardnerville, Nevada over the weekend, so I've piled up a bunch of blogs that I plan to upload and write over the next couple of days. The cable guy will be at our house this afternoon, so I'll be back online soon. In the meantime, I have uploaded a video that my husband Dave edited for me, from me and Maricar's 5 seconds of fame on American Idol last week and here it is...

I've been so busy with work that I have not had too much time to catch up on my blog. But I did want to post a couple of pics in the meantime and say, "I had one of the best times of my life yesterday!!!" My friend, Maricar and I were in the audience of American Idol and we were televised. I'll be uploading a short video of our 2 seconds of fame very soon, but first I wanted to post a couple of pics.
Here's one of me and Blake's dad...
Dave and I are heading to the Lake Tahoe area this weekend for our cousin's wedding, so more pics, videos and excitement are coming soon...

Another interesting day in LA yesterday. It's our 3rd fire since we moved here almost a year ago. We've only had 3 inches of rain this season, which is probably the reason for the numerous fires. We live about 3 miles from Griffith Park and it "was" a nice place to go hiking by the Hollywood sign.
I took a break away from work to grab some lunch yesterday (05/08/07) and while I was in line at Taco Bell in Hermosa Beach...I looked up and saw this cloud of smoke in the distance:
I turned on the radio on my way back to work and the news was bombarded with people calling in and explaining what they could see from the Valley all the way down to the OC. Turns out a homeless person fell asleep in Griffith Park with a cigarette in his hand and over 600 acres were burned. There was no structural damage and again, no one was hurt...accept the homeless guy, who had 2nd & 3rd degree burns. Here's a little video I found on YouTube:

I'm back home, but had a great time in San Jose. I flew out to San Jose last Wednesday night for work on Thursday and Friday and stayed for the weekend to visit with friends for Cinco De Mayo. On Friday night, I stopped by my old stomping grounds, The Boulevard Tavern, and my co-worker, Ricky and his girlfriend, Marina, met up with me. I also hung out with Darla, Katie, Todd and Adam and stayed the night at Darla's place. Here are a few pics from Friday night:
Landing back in Burbank :)

On Saturday, I visited with my friend, Jenni, and watched her son, Tyler's, baseball game. Then back to Los Gatos for a wonderful Cinco De Mayo Party at DD and Mark's place. Here are a few pics from the night (see more pics on Flickr.com on the left side of this page):

While I was walking to pick up my luggage, I saw Neil Patrick Harris, aka Doogie Howser walking the opposite direction and it reminded me how happy I am to be in LA, so I can see all the celebrities. Here's a pic of him:

Dave and I waited in line for about 3 hours and were only 6 people away from getting in to see American Idol tonight. On a good note, I made my flight and I wouldn't have made my flight to San Jose, if we had gotten into the show. Plus, I have guaranteed seats to a future show of American Idol (I'll find out the exact date tomorrow). Hopefully Blake and Melinda will still be on the show :) I'm now in San Jose (Campbell) and settling in for the night to get ready for work tomorrow! More to come...

Don't forget to TIVO American Idol Wednesday night, May 2nd :) And vote for BLAKE (or Melinda)!!!
I had a wonderful weekend, as usual. On Friday night, Dave and I just relaxed, watched a movie on TV and played Scrabble. On Saturday, we planned to drive down to Hermosa Beach to go Roller Blading, but ended up in Venice. We haven’t visited Venice, since we moved down to LA and we forgot how much fun it is to people watch there (much better than Santa Cruz). Here are a couple pics from Venice (from my cell phone camera):
On Sunday, I cleaned my car, went to the Farmers Market (only saw a couple of minor celebrities, whose names I do not recall) and did some laundry to prepare for my trip to San Jose this Wednesday night (after American Idol), then headed to my friend Denise’s place for a fun night of Karaoke.
