Today, I worked from home so I could tune up my car. While I was driving to Burbank to have my car worked on, I couldn't help but notice a very big whitish/brownish cloud in the sky above me. My first thought was to call Dave and tell him to step outside to prove that I was not seeing things. It seriously looked like a bomb hit LA! I drove a little out of my way to get a closer view of the enormous cloud, and meanwhile I scrolled through the local radio channels to find out what was happening and came upon a news channel that explained a brush fire started near the Oakwood apartments in Universal City about 1.5 miles from where we live. After hearing the radio announcement I felt much better and eventually arrived at the mechanic. Once at the mechanic, I waited outside and made a few phone calls to tell people about what I was seeing at that moment while ashes were literally falling like rain around me. It was very surreal.

Turns out no houses or people were affected by the fire. But you wouldn't think so, especially after seeing these pictures of this fire (Barham Fire):

Anyway, we made it through alive and plan to go to the Long Beach Aquarium tomorrow. More pics and stories to come...

I have not been able to update this site as often, because I'm working again and my commute is almost 2 hrs. each way. But I am loving my job and we are planning to sublet our apartment and move down to the Hermosa Beach area in the next couple of months.
Last weekend Dave and I went to Palm Springs for his birthday, which was actually yesterday. We had a great time and it got up to 100 degrees on Saturday. Here are a few pics:

This weekend we will start cleaning and packing our place to get ready to sublet it, so unless I see a celebrity at the local coffee shop, I will probably not have an update for awhile.

Another busy week…my mother-in-law came into town on Thursday night and we had a nice dinner in Hermosa Beach. On Friday night, we went to Universal City Walk, and on Saturday we went to Malibu and Santa Monica for a beautiful day of sun, and then dropped her off at the airport on our way back home. Here are a few pics from our weekend:

And I almost forgot...I was on TV again :) In the audience of TVLand's Sit Down Comedy show with David Steinberg interviewing RoseAnne Barr. See Pt. 3 of the interview here (I am exactly 5 minutes in): RoseAnne Barr: Pt. 3

Also, here is a pic of me too (on the right side in pink):

Now the finale of last week…part 3. My friends from NorCal came down to SoCal to visit me, Melissa and Denise. We had a great time! On Friday night we went to a few local bars in “The Valley”, where I live. At one of the local bars, The Firefly, we hung out with Dr. Luca from ER. Here are a few pics from Friday night:
And on Saturday we went to Santa Ynez Valley for some wine tasting in Los Olivos and the Firestone Winery. My friend Melissa is good friends with the VP of Sales at the Firestone Winery and we had a Private Wine Tasting and Tour. While we were there Andrew Firestone from The Bachelor popped in for a quick visit and some pics. After wine tasting we hung out at the Firestone Cottage and then traveled to Santa Barbara for the night. Here are some pics from Saturday and our way back on Sunday morning:

So...after I left Fairfield on Sunday, February 25th (see post below), I drove down to San Jose to stay with my friend Katie, while I was in working at company headquarters and training during the weekdays. I watched the Oscars on Sunday night (of course) and also visited with Katie and her niece. Julia, Katie's niece, is just adorable! Here's a couple pics of Katie and her niece:

On Monday night I met up with a few of my co-workers for a going away party for our good friend, Stan. Here's a couple pics of them:
Jons, Satish and Maj
Christopher and Brian (my favorite Sales guys)
On Tuesday night, I met up with Jenni Winter for dinner, then after I stopped by my favorite Los Gatos tavern to meet up with Darla and Thomas for a couple of drinks. Thursday night I went out with Katie and Amanda for a very nice dinner too! Sorry, no pics from the last two nights :(.
Anyway, Thursday night I drove the standard 5 hours home to LA and then my girl weekend began...get ready for Part 3.

I've been really busy over the past couple of weeks with my new job and visiting friends and family. Because I've been really busy, I'm going to make several posts over the next 48 hours to catch up on all the fun I've been having lately. Here is Part 1 of 3...
The weekend of February 24th, I traveled up to Fairfield, CA for my niece's 6th birthday. Boy, do they grow up fast. Do I sound like an ol' Auntie now?
Here is a short video of the festivities:

And here are a few pics:

Part 2 and 3 to come...
